Tried to order some CUI encoders (102-1307-ND pic) and cables from digikey, but got these IC sockets instead... FAIL.

That's unusual for DigiKey, I order from them 1-2x a week at work and rarely get the wrong part. Usually it's my fault. They're good about correcting things and will probably let you keep the sockets (bonus!?-- well....).
Hi Brian, thanks for your comment. I sent this picture and a note to digikey support so I hope they fix this soon.
We order mostly from ELFA and sometimes Farnell, but digikey is running a campaign where shipping is free on orders over 65euros, and with the current dollar/euro currency conversion digikey is a good alternative.
