What is the max. beam of this boat. I am making a plug out of 10mm MDF, and it is at 160mm right now before I glue it together. Is this to narrow or should I add more pieces or just go for it. I am not racing, just doing this as a fun project.
The only concern I would have with a narrow boat is that when ballasted to 4 kg your boat might float quite low. Having the stern “drag” low in the water is supposedly not very fast. In heavier weather I don’t think the drag penalty will be noticeable.

I don’t remember the exact numbers, but if you look here:

you see that the beam is just under 200mm I think.
