Steinar from Norway who started building a Noux in December now sent me some pictures of the finished boat.

What is the max. beam of this boat. I am making a plug out of 10mm MDF, and it is at 160mm right now before I glue it together. Is this to narrow or should I add more pieces or just go for it. I am not racing, just doing this as a fun project.
Hi Andrew,
I don't remember the exact numbers, but if you look here:
http://www.anderswallin.net/2006/03/noux-2-layout-plan-and-3d-iges-file/
you see that the beam is just under 200mm I think.
The only concern I would have with a narrow boat is that when ballasted to 4 kg your boat might float quite low. Having the stern "drag" low in the water is supposedly not very fast. In heavier weather I don't think the drag penalty will be noticeable.
