Cool image re-sizing video

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

I wonder when this technology is coming to a WordPress/FireFox near you? I’m always frustrated by having to re-size photos to a specific column width (450 pixels in my blog right now), and then manually linking the pictures to larger versions (usually 1024 pixels wide). This cool technology should allow me to just upload an image, attach it to the post, and then it re-sizes depending on the theme or the browser used.

SessionSaver

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

SessionSaver is another FireFox must-have. FF automatically restores your session (tabs, urls, etc.) after a crash, but this plugin does it every time FF starts. Strangely the official looking page on mozilla.org has an old version (doesn’t work with FF 2.0.0.4) of the plugin and the most recent one is here.

Firefox and doi:

I’ve just found this plugin for Firefox, which lets you type a DOI directly into the address field, and firefox resolves that into a URL. Nice!

From the guys who came up with Skype and KaZaA: Joost is a new form of P2P TV ! Seems to work pretty nicely even over only a 1-2 MBit connection. Content is a bit limited right now - but it’s supposed to improve over time.
